On 22 July 2017 Sting will perform on the open air stage in Regensburg Castle, Germany. Composer, singer / songwriter, actor, author and activist Sting was born in Newcastle, England, and moved to London in 1977, where he founded The Police with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers. The band released five studio albums, received five Grammys and two Brits, and was recorded in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003...

As one of the most extraordinary solo artists in the world, Sting was awarded another ten Grammy Awards. He was also awarded two Brits, a Golden Globe, an Emmy and the Century Award of the Billboard Magazine. He was nominated three times for the Oscar and once for the TONY. He is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and received one of the most prestigious cultural awards in the United States, Kennedy Center Honors, in December 2014. In the course of his career, he sold nearly 100 million albums as a solo artist and with The Police. His numerous hits such as "Desert Rose", "An Englishman in New York", "Shape of my Heart", "Fragile", "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You" or "Fields of Gold" were up to 85 million times Clicked on YouTube.

Sting's support for human rights organizations such as Amnesty International and Live Aid document his global humanitarian commitment. With his wife Trudie Styler, he founded the Rainforest Fund in 1989 to protect rainforests and their threatened population. Since then, the Rainforest Fund has developed into a network of connected organizations working in more than 20 countries and three continents.

Bruce Springsteen gave the crowd at Sting and Trudie Styler's biannual Rainforest Fund concert at Carnegie Hall quite an early Christmas present Wednesday night (Dec. 13), as he emerged from the back of the hall to kick-start his set. "Ho, Ho, Ho! This is your Jersey Santa Claus," he proclaimed. "I just got in! I didn't think I was going to make it, the North wind is coming down and the temperature is dropping, and all I want for Christmas is... one of those." That would be co-host Sting, who Bruce proceeded to hug. He then strapped on a guitar, and launched into a rocking version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," leading the venue in a sing along that capped off a stellar night of music...
